Kawartha Lakes Road 6 (known locally by various names, including Eldon Road, Kirkfield Road and Sadowa Road) is a municipally-maintained class-3 roadway[2] located in the city of Kawartha Lakes in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is notable for being the only road to pass beneath the Trent-Severn Waterway, which it does at the 15 m (49 ft) Kirkfield Lift Lock. The road runs in a predominantly north–south direction and covers a distance of 78.8 kilometres (49.0 mi).[1][3] The road crosses primarily rural geography,[1] but passes through several small unincorporated communities between its southern terminus, City Road 28 (Ramsey Road), and northern terminus, County Road 52 (Coopers Falls Road). These communities comprise Little Britain, Oakwood, Kirkfield, Sebright and Sadowa.[3]
Prior to January 1, 1998, the portion of Kawartha Lakes Road 6 between Kirkfield and Sebright was designated as Highway 503.
